Wu's clients had a specific request: a dark, loft-style house. Through extensive discussions about their lifestyle and personalities, the design evolved into a light industrial and loft style, with the inclusion of warm and comfortable natural wood material. This unique blend not only met the clients' requirements but also enhanced their living experience, making their home a place of joy and comfort.
The Warm Loft stands out for its unique use of materials and the special attention given to lighting. Each pipe in the house controls different lighting, creating a unique atmosphere. The extended line for the house also controls the key spaces, further enhancing its unique character.
The house's dimensions are 8810 mm x 7210 mm x 2800 mm, covering an area of 73 square meters. The materials used include steel with black paint, chamaecyparis thyoides, walnut, gray glass, LVT plastic floor, Lotos (concrete), diatomaceous earth, and Laminate.
The project started in September 2017 in Taiwan and was completed in February 2018 in Kaohsiung. One of the challenges faced during the design process was the height of the house. The team had to ensure that the space felt relaxed and comfortable despite the structural conflicts.
Despite these challenges, the Warm Loft is a testament to Wu's innovative approach to design. It's not just an industrial-style house; it's a home that tells the story of its inhabitants' life, with its unique combination of materials and thoughtful design elements. The house features only a few colors and has ample storage spaces, further enhancing its functionality and aesthetic appeal.
The Warm Loft is a shining example of how innovative design can transform a space, making it not just a house, but a home. With its unique blend of industrial and natural elements, it's no surprise that it has been recognized with a prestigious design award.
